In Belgium, workplace first aid is governed by Act of 4 August 1996 on the well-being of workers in the performance of their work, transposing EU Framework Directive 89/391/EEC, administered by Federal Public Service Employment, Labour and Social Dialogue (FPS Employment), Directorate-General for Supervision of Well-being at Work. Employers must ensure a trained first aider is available at all times.
